Moving from Hawaii to New Zealand

My name is Antonia and I moved to New Zealand from Hawaii!

The most challenging part of the process was gathering all the required documentation and the uncertainty of visa approval. I worked with Anastasiya as my advisor and she was excellent at answering all our questions and guiding us through the process.

My first impressions of New Zealand is how beautiful it is! I miss the sushi and local Hawaiian food, but we are cooking more of that food at home now instead of getting takeaways! There is a large Asian community here so finding the ingredients we need has not been too hard.

One thing I would advise other migrants to do is start the visa application process early and don’t give up! When you feel like giving up you are probably almost at the end so just hang in there!

One thing I wish I had known before moving here is how well my kids would adapt. As a parent that was a huge concern, but my kids have adapted amazingly well and the schools have good systems in place to welcome and support new students.

We are so grateful to have been accepted into our new home in New Zealand!
