Reopening of Visa Application Centres
A limited number of applications processed
Certain Visa Application Centres (VACs) offshore will reopen to assist with New Zealand visa applications. This is to assist with certain processes where original documents must be verified.
More information (INZ website)
When does this start?
From Monday 7 September 2020, select New Zealand Visa Application Centres (VACs) will reopen to accept applications from applicants who meet the border exceptions criteria. These individuals will be able to send in their documents through post/courier as the preferred method of submission.
What types of applications will VACs assist with?
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- passport scanning,
- Permanent Resident visas,
- eVisa label transfer requests (transferring your current visa to a new passport),
- other applications that meet border exemptions, on a case to case basis
How do I submit my application?
Submission by courier is preferred, however if you go in person a mandatory appointment system will be operating for any customer who meets the border exception criteria and wishes to submit their documents in person. This is to ensure that health and safety and contact tracing protocols are followed.
Are all VACs reopening?
The reopening of Visa Application Centres is progressive and subject to change. We recommend you visit the VFS website for information about which locations have reopened and what services are being offered in each branch
