Extension for Working Holiday visas and Supplementary Seasonal Employment visas
Are you currently in New Zealand on Working Holiday visa or a Seasonal Supplementary Employment (SSE) visa? You may qualify for an automated 6 months extension.
This extension is automatic and there is no fee.

Which visas are being automatically extended?
Working Holiday visas
Onshore Working Holiday visa holders whose visa expire between 21 June and 31 December 2021 will be extended for 6 months.
Working Holiday visa holders may work in any occupation for any employer, but cannot accept permanent employment. If you are offered a permanent job, you must apply for a work visa that is relevant to the occupation and/or employer.
Supplementary Seasonal Employment visas (SSE)
Supplementary Seasonal Employment visas holders whose visa expire between 21 June and 31 December 2021 will be extended for 6 months. SSE visas are typically granted to work for certain employers in the horticulture and viticulture industries. These restrictions are lifted and SSE visa holder will be given open work rights that will allow them to work in any sector.
How do you apply for the extension?
There is no need to apply for these extensions, Immigration New Zealand will contact visa holders by 25 June 2021 confirming the extension.
