A number of scholarships are available based on merit, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 for certain programmes.

Scholarships available to study at New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC)

A NZD$10,000 scholarship is available to a limited number of student for the Master of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood Education)

Scholarships available to study at YOOBEE College of Creative Innovation (Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch campuses)

A limited number or scholarships are available of up to 25% on certain undergraduate programmes and 25% on certain post-graduate programmes.

Scholarship available to study at the University of Waikato

Up to NZD 15,000 towards tuition fees available to International students enrolling for the first time in an undergraduate or postgraduate (taught) programme at UoW, and the scholarship is based on academic excellence. It is available across all subject areas - Arts, Science, Engineering, Health, Law, Māori & Indigenous Studies, to Social Sciences and more.

Note, it is available across specific countries - Pacific, South-east Asia, India, China.

Scholarships available to study at WINTEC

WINTEC currently offers scholarships towards tuition fees on the following programmes.

  • Bachelor of Accounting - $5,000 off
  • Bachelor of Communication - $3,000 off
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management - $3,000 off
  • Master of Applied Management - $3,000 off
  • Bachelor of Social Work - $3,000 off

Wellington

Scholarships available at Victoria University of Wellington

For 2026 programmes, Victoria university Wellington is offering a $15,000 scholarship to any international student undertaking a bachelors' programme and $10,000 for all post-graduate programmes.

Christchurch (Canterbury region)

Scholarships available at the University of Canterbury

University of International Deans Awards are available to students who meet academic merit standards for 2026. These result in scholarships amounting to $4,000 for undergraduate programmes and $8,000 for Postgraduate programmes. Students will automatically be assessed at time of application and, if eligible, will be sent a Deans Award offer along with their Offer of Place.

Scholarships available at ARA Institute of Canterbury

7 scholarships of $5,000 each are available to study at ARA. You must be an international student enrolling at Ara in a Level 7 or above Bachelor, Postgraduate, or Master's programme, demonstrate excellent academic achievement in previous studies, and show a genuine commitment to internationalisation and contributing positively to the Ara community.
