AEWV Employer accreditation extensions
AEWV Employer accreditation
In May 2022, the Government announced that any employer seeking to support a migrant for a work visa will have to be accredited, under the Accredited Employer Work visa scheme.
How long is employer accreditation valid?
Initial employer accreditation under all tiers (standard, high volume, labour hire, franchisees), is valid for 12 months. Under standard and high volume immigration employer accreditation renewals are valid for 24 months.
Automated extensions
The Government has announced that the validity of initial AEWV accreditation will be extended by 12 months for employers who have applied or will apply before 4 July 2023.
Hiring migrants with open work rights
The Government was working on mandating compulsory accreditation even to hire migrants on visas with open work rights (like partner visas, students with work rights, or working holidaymakers). This plan has been deferred to 2024, allowing employers more time to prepare.
