Guide to migrating and life in New Zealand
Welcome to part 4 of our 5 part guide! In this edition:
LTSSL vs Green List ?
Are we eligible?
What visa?
LTSSL vs Green List ?
LTSSL, RSSL, CISSL, Green List… these acronyms are key terms within Immigration; and nearly everyone I talk with places high emphasis on the “lists”. However, misinterpretation also plays a key factor – which is why I have added this section to the guide.
You have to meet the requirements stated within these lists (next to your occupation) exactly – word for word. If this is NOT the case then these lists do not apply to you…however this does not mean you are not eligible !
If your occupation is featured on a list and you meet the corresponding requirements, then this is very useful and means the following:
LTSSL, RSSL and CISSL: these lists do not exist anymore and are archived immigration policy.
The Green List: Occupations under the Green List qualify for a fast-track residence pathway or a 2-year Work-to-residence pathway.
If you would like to know more about these pathways, feel free to call or email and I will help you out.

Are we eligible? What visa?
Before you start planning your new life you must first find out if it’s possible! The most important step in migrating is undertaking an eligibility assessment. This detailed assessment will inform you of your eligibility, outline the best visa options for you and your family and provide guidance and considerations that must also be taken into account.
I must point out there is a big difference in the Eligibility Assessments offered among migration agents, so be careful which one you choose – often the first step dictates the resulting path you take and ultimately how successful your migration will be. What I am talking about here is being ‘technically eligible’ versus being ‘realistically eligible’. The difference is huge and many advisors have been accused of taking on clients (and their money) in full knowledge that they have a slim chance for success. It is important to understand your chances in realistic terms before you engage in the full services of a migration agency.
As part of the Eligibility Assessment we offer, we give you an honest assessment as well as pointing out all possible visa options. In the event where you are either not technically eligible or do not have a realistic chance for migration, we will not only refund 100% of your assessment fee, but also provide guidance on how you can increase your chances in the future.
